Aluminum body, AkzoNobel finish

The frame combines 6005 and 6063 aluminum alloys, chosen by load: the posts carry the heaviest walls, the panels stay light so the drive and hinges are not overloaded.

Every surface is finished in AkzoNobel Interpon outdoor powder with our double bake process, for UV, salt spray and acid-rain resistance.

Safety in every cycle

Infrared beam protection on a bifold gate

Infrared anti-collision

Beams on both posts stop the gate and reverse it if a person, car or object is in the path.

Leakage protection module

Leakage protection

10 mA leakage detection cuts power in under 0.1 s. Flame-retardant materials around the electrics.

Light and voice warning

A diamond-prism warning light flashes and a voice alert sounds while the gate moves.

10th Gen controller

Faster response and broad compatibility with LPR, apps, intercoms and RFID.

Self-locking drive

The motor locks the panels when stopped, so they cannot be forced open.

Overview

The CAIMEN Bi-Folding Gate System is a trackless, fully suspended folding gate for entrances that can't spare a swing arc or a long sliding run. Its leaves fold toward both sides and park against the posts. Open, it leaves the driveway empty.

Think of it as a system, not a panel. Look at the axis first. A folding gate lives or dies by how its weight gets into the ground, and that's exactly where CAIMEN put its patent.

There's no pre-embedded track. The gate hangs from its posts, so rain, snow and standing water at the threshold don't jam it. Want the deeper engineering story? It's on our technology page, and finished looks are on the designs page.

Key features

Frame alloys you can check

Posts and frames are extruded from 6005 and 6063 aluminum alloys, with cast aluminum decoration parts. Exact profile sizes are in the spec table below. Why 6063? Builders use it for window and door frames. The Wikipedia overview of the alloy says it extrudes cleanly and takes a good surface finish, and Gabrian, an aluminum extruder, calls it the most popular alloy for extrusion.

Patented top-bottom axis

Top guidance keeps each leaf in line. The real work happens lower down, where a load-bearing pivot sends the gate's weight into the foundation instead of hanging it off side connection points. According to CAIMEN's engineering data, that cuts mechanical wear by about 60% compared with a conventional support shaft and extends service life up to 3x. CAIMEN rates a single bearing assembly for 5 to 10 tons. Up top, the pivot is CNC machined; at the base, it's wrapped in four layers of protection.

Hinges and folding guide

Every hinge shaft is 304 stainless steel, 40 mm across, precision-cast at 1500 °C. A dual-track guide turns both leaf sets through 90° together. Neither side lags and binds.

24 V brushless drive

Inside the post sits a 24 V DC brushless motor rated at 200 W (120 to 200 W output), drawing 6 A through a 300 reduction ratio. Expect 6 to 12 seconds for a full open or close. It's rated for at least 5,000,000 cycles, handles -30 °C to +70 °C, and uses soft start and soft stop to ease the leaves in and out of motion.

Safety that ships standard

Break the infrared beam and the leaves stop, then reverse. Electrical faults get the same quick answer: 10 mA leakage detection cuts the power automatically in under 0.1 s. You also get flame-retardant material, motor thermal protection, self-locking, a manual clutch and an emergency stop. None of them are extras.

10th Gen control and finish

Control comes from CAIMEN's 10th Gen Smart Control System, which responds faster and talks to more smart devices. As for the finish, it's fluorocarbon powder coating on AkzoNobel Interpon outdoor powder, double baked. CM-01 gray is standard. Prefer another color? Choose it.

Where it fits

The old-site listing names four settings: residential, industrial, public facilities and commercial. Honestly, it earns its keep wherever space around the opening is the real constraint.

  • Short driveways: say your garage sits a few meters behind the property line. Swing a gate there and it hits the car. Fold it, and it doesn't.
  • Factory and warehouse yards: with no ground track, forklifts and delivery vehicles cross a flat threshold, and there's no rail for them to damage.
  • Public buildings and campuses: people get a warning while the gate moves, from the diamond-prism light and, if you add it, voice broadcast.
  • Shops and showrooms: during business hours the folded leaves stack neatly at the posts.

How to specify it

Start with the clear opening width and the height you want. Features come next, and the split looks like this:

For a quote, send us:

  • Opening width, gate height and a photo of both post positions
  • Which side, or both sides, the leaves should fold to
  • Access methods you'll connect: LPR, face, fingerprint, keypad, mobile app, video intercom, RFID, radar, ground loop or Bluetooth
  • Color (CM-01 gray is standard) and any decorative pattern from our designs
  • Your power supply at the posts

You'll get CAD drawings and renderings first. Nothing goes into production until you've approved them, and production typically takes 15 to 20 days. Email [email protected] or use the contact page.

Bi-Folding Gate System questions

Does the Bi-Folding Gate System need a track in the ground?

No. It's fully suspended from its posts through the top-bottom axis, with no pre-embedded track. Vehicles get a flat threshold, and rain, snow or standing water has no channel to fill and jam the leaves. You'll still need a solid foundation at each post. That's where the bottom pivot puts the weight.

What aluminum is the frame made from?

Extruded 6005 and 6063 aluminum alloys for the posts and frames, plus cast aluminum for the decoration parts. We've kept the full profile sizes and wall thicknesses in the specification table on this page rather than repeating them here. Planning an unusually wide or tall opening? Send us the dimensions with your quote request.

How fast does it open, and how long does the motor last?

Between 6 and 12 seconds per open or close cycle, driven by a 24 V DC brushless motor. It's rated for at least 5,000,000 cycles and runs from -30 to +70 degrees C. Soft start and soft stop ease the leaves into motion and slow them gently, which protects the mechanism every time it moves.

What warranty applies?

The 24 V control system comes with 7-day replacement and a 1-year warranty for quality issues. It doesn't cover damage from incorrect power supply, unsuitable temperature conditions, improper operation or disassembly. Not sure whether something's covered? Ask us before you order.
